Light-addressable potentiometric sensors for cell monitoring and biosensing

نویسندگان

چکیده

The light-addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) represents a versatile platform for chemical and biosensing. Thanks to the light addressability, flat surface of LAPS can be flexibly divided into areas or pixels, each functioning as an independent that modified with various sensing materials measuring different ions molecules. Since it first appeared in late 1980s, has been applied cells biological samples, driven by technological developments. In this short review, principles its variants are briefly described focusing on recent trends applications

Influences of Probe's Morphology for Metal Ion Detection Based on Light-Addressable Potentiometric Sensors

The sensing mechanism of binding Hg(2+) into thymine-thymine (T-T) mismatched base pairs was introduced into a light-addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) with anti-Hg(2+) aptamer as the sensing units. Three kinds of T-rich single-strand DNA (ssDNA) chains with different spacer lengths, from 0 to 12 -CH₂ groups, were designed to investigate surface charge and morphological effects on the LAP...

High spatial resolution impedance measurement of EIS sensors for light addressable cell adhesion monitoring.

In this paper, impedance measurement of electrolyte-insulator-semiconductor (EIS) structure with high spatial resolution was proposed to monitor cell adhesion. The light addressing ability of this work overcomes the geometrical restrict of cell culture on conventional impedance detection devices such as interdigitated electrode (IDE) and electric cell-substrate impedance sensing (ECIS). Instead...

Light Addressable Potentiometric Sensor as Cell-Based Biosensors for Biomedical Application

One of most enduring topics in the field of biosensors and bioelectronics is cell-based biosensors, which are able to convert cellular biological effects to electrical signals, via living cells. As the archetypal interface between a biological and an electronic system, the research and development of cell-based biosensors are essentially dependent on the combined knowledge of engineers, physici...

Investigation on light-addressable potentiometric sensor as a possible cell-semiconductor hybrid.

This article reports an investigation on light-addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) to be used as a possible biological cell-semiconductor hybrid that will enable us to make an interface between the physical and biological system. To increase the surface potential sensitivity, we used a LAPS structure with single insulator (SiO2) coated with poly-L-ornithine and laminin (PLOL) on Si. Effici...

Modern Directions for Potentiometric Sensors.

This paper gives an overview of the newest developments of polymeric membrane ion-selective electrodes. A short essence of the underlying theory is given, emphasizing how the electromotive force may be used to assess binding constants of the ionophore, and how the selectivity and detection limit are related to the underlying membrane processes. The recent developments in lowering the detection ...
